Samantha Metaxas, a consultant from Sweco’s Carbon & Sustainability team, recently presented at the Institution of Civil Engineers headquarters at Westminster for the NCE100 Club, an event which brings together senior representatives from Britain’s leading civil engineering consultancies, contractors, clients and industry stakeholders to debate key industry topics and share best practice. Samantha was invited to discuss Sweco UK’s approach to carbon management which led to us recently winning the New Civil Engineer Low Carbon Leader award and contributed to us being recognised as a Top 10 civil engineering company.

SWECO UK RECEIVES ROSPA PRESIDENT'S (14 CONSECUTIVE GOLDS) AWARD FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY PRACTICES

SWECO LEAPS 40 PLACES TO BE NAMED TOP TEN UK ENGINEERING FIRM BY NCE

Sweco UK has been recognised as a top ten civil engineering firm for the first time by New Civil Engineer (NCE) at its annual industry awards.

Climbing 40 places from last year’s NCE100 Companies listing, the business was placed sixth in the ranking of the top UK 100 engineering firms, with the judges commending Sweco for its commitment in pushing the boundaries of sustainability and holistic design.

Sweco also scooped the ‘Low Carbon Leader’ award at the London ceremony, following its work on implementing PAS2080 carbon standards across Renfrewshire Council’s £130 million City Deal infrastructure project. The judges also applauded the company for its ‘Carbon Conversations’ programme, which aims to improve carbon literacy across the industry and teach participants to create action plans to reduce emissions in their own specialisms.
