Sweco UK & Ireland Secures ISO 19650 Re-Certification

Following a rigorous audit, we are proud to share that Sweco UK & Ireland has successfully retained its BSI business certification for ISO 19650.

This important milestone highlights our dedication to implementing the necessary processes, workflows, knowledge, and skills required for effective project delivery – ensuring we meet the recognised international standards expected by both current and prospective clients.

Craig Hardingham, Digital Technical Director in Sweco’s Transportation & Urbanisation division, reflects on our certification journey and the significance of its successful conclusion:

“Obtaining this certification involved a comprehensive audit of our standards, processes, and templates in line with ISO 19650 requirements. This included a thorough review of project evidence from across Sweco UK & Ireland to demonstrate our adherence to these standards in project delivery. Overcoming the rigor of the audit reinforces our ability to consistently deliver high-quality projects for our clients.”

Auditor comments:

  • Our suite of processes, templates, and documents is exemplary.
  • It’s evident that we have a talented team with extensive knowledge working on our projects.
  • Some of our initiatives, such as Bentley iTwin on the A47 Thickthorn and Asset Data requirements for the British Antarctic Survey, are considered ‘top tier/industry-leading,’ offering valuable lessons for the rest of the organisation.

Our formal re-certification means clients can take comfort in knowing that the British Standards Institution (BSI) has validated our expertise, skills, and capabilities to execute projects in accordance with ISO 19650.

Max Joy, President of Sweco UK & Ireland, comments:

“At Sweco, we believe that ISO 19650 certification is essential for successful collaboration and efficiency in information management. This re-certification demonstrates our ongoing commitment to excellence in project management, recognises our synchronicity across what can be complex multi-disciplinary workflows, and ultimately will reassure both our clients and partners that they can trust us to deliver meaningful transformation at scale.”
