FREE SWECO WEBINAR – 1ST JUNE (REMOTE DIAL-IN)

International Transport Modelling Webinar 2022

Transport modelling is critical in supporting clients throughout the appraisal process and fully analysing the operational, economic and environmental factors of their proposed schemes. If you’re involved in any aspect of mobility and planning, we’re pleased to invite you along to our FREE International Transport Modelling Webinar 2022.

You might find it difficult to determine exactly how a traffic model should be used for maximum efficiency, perhaps you need to explore the different types of software you can use to optimise your project, or maybe it’s simply time to reset your thinking and expand your knowledge. Whatever your challenges, our  presentations will unlock invaluable insights through unique cross-border collaboration with contributions from across the Sweco group.

During the webinar, a number of projects will be presented, all showcasing different types of models and software that vary from tools that are ideal for localised pedestrian and cyclist solutions to those which suite planning for entire cities and regions. Several of our experts and customers from Sweco in the UK, Sweden, Finland, Netherlands and Belgium will guide you through a variety of traffic modelling examples which bring to life the possibilities within this particular sphere of civil engineering.

UK Focus

As part of this international webinar, the UK will focus on two key projects in our England and Scotland transport portfolio:

Worcestershire Strategic Transport Model – This project involves the development of a new strategic multi-modal model for Worcestershire, England using the PTV VISUM software package. The initial goal is to build a model for local government for the appraisal of major new highway schemes. The model will become an invaluable tool for testing the impact of transport schemes and new developments.

Economic Assessment for the A75/A77 – Dumfries & Galloway, South Ayrshire and Mid & East Antrim Borough Councils jointly appointed Sweco as Lead Consultant to undertake a review of the potential impacts of improving the A75 and A77 on the local and regional economy. Sweco will work in close collaboration with the three Councils and the respective local business and communities to accurately represent the economic and traffic impacts of improving the A75 and A77 trunk roads.
