Congratulations Chris Stott for achieving APM ChPP Status
We are delighted to announce that Chris Stott, in our Leeds office, has recently become the first person at Sweco to achieve the Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) standard with the Association of Project Management (APM).
Chris joined Sweco three years ago and currently works as a Project Manager in the North Transportation Team, led by John McKenna. As part of his development he was supported in submitting an application for this new professional standard. Following his achievement Chris has been added to the register for Chartered Project Professionals. He is now amongst the first 1,000 on the register.
The Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) standard is a professional benchmark that demonstrates attainment of a defined level of technical knowledge, professional practice and ethical behaviour. It is available to anyone who has a proven track record in delivering projects, has up-to-date knowledge of current practices and is actively involved in a project profession.
Sweco launched the Project Management Professional Career Pathway in May 2019, which is aligned to the APM Competence Framework and qualifications/standards. This pathway provides development opportunities for individuals at Sweco whose primary expertise is within project management.
Speaking of this recent achievement, Chris said:
“I’m very proud to have achieved this level of technical excellence, which has put me on a level footing with others in the company. I’m very passionate about the work I do and feel I play a central role to the overall scheme. My job is very varied and client focussed, so I get the opportunity to work with everyone, which I really enjoy.
“Achieving an industry standard has made me proud of the hard work I’ve put in and experience I’ve gained. This has set me on the road to progressing my career further, which I hope will open doors to bigger projects and more personal achievements.”
