Sweco helps NoMad Hotel London get AHEAD with 6 award nominations
We’re proud to confirm that our partners at Nomad London Hotel, have been shortlisted as nominees for a number of accolades in the upcoming AHEAD awards this Friday (19th November) – in the Bar, Club or Lounge, Event Space, Guestroom, Hotel Conversion, Lobby and Public Space and Restaurant categories.
This is the culmination of almost a decade of project collaboration. Sweco began working on this building with the previous Dutch owners in 2012, with the task of converting and extending the former Bow Street Magistrates Court and Police station into a hotel, bar and Metropolitan Police Museum. The museum being a planning condition as part of the consent to convert a listed building. Our experts were subsequently retained by the current management and owners Sydell Group/Nomad in 2017 to see the project through to completion, which was achieved earlier this year. Over the course of the project, we are proud to have provided Building Standards and Building Control approval support for listed buildings, retained structure and assessing means of escape.
Good luck also to EPR Architects, the lead for the UK side of the design for this project, and concept architects Roman & Williams.
AHEAD Europe winners will be announced at a ceremony on 19 November 2021 at Evolution London – purchase tickets here.
