Max Joy's Letter to Clients & Partners

Max Joy's Letter to Clients & Partners

18 March 2020

Dear Clients and Partners,

I am writing to inform you of Sweco’s current position concerning the coronavirus situation. Many of you will have already seen our business continuity plan, which we published on our external website and LinkedIn channel last week. As you are aware, the situation in the UK has changed considerably since then and we have revised our plan to reflect the Government’s new guidelines. In summary, we have now asked all Sweco and MLM colleagues to work from home. In taking this measure we are supporting the Government’s strategic intent, whilst protecting the health and well-being of our colleagues, clients and partners. This action came into effect on Tuesday 17 March.

In preparation for this decision, we have significantly increased our VPN access enabling service delivery to continue as normal. Whereas most of our consultants have laptops and can work from home, there are some that require IT hardware and software with greater capacity. To accommodate these more demanding requirements, we have adopted additional measures, which are now in place.

Whilst our offices remain open for those colleagues who cannot work from home, we are no longer accepting visitors and have adopted a ‘digital first’ approach to client and external meetings using Teams and Skype.

Colleagues will continue to work on client sites and in client offices where that is agreed and will adhere to client guidelines as required. Site visits to monitor progress and review health and safety will continue in line with the guidelines issued by our crisis management team.

During these uncertain and challenging times, I wanted to reassure that we are committed to doing everything we can to ensure the continued delivery of quality services to you, whilst protecting the health and wellbeing of everyone.

In the meantime, I hope that you, your colleagues and families stay safe and well.

Kind regards

Max Joy OBE
Sweco UK President
