Sweco Wins Hat-Trick Of BREEAM Awards For Championing Sustainability
Sweco saw off stiff competition from five other companies to be named Mechanical and Engineering Consultant of the Year for the second year on the run, with the judges recognising our integrated approach to sustainability which is continually pushing BREEAM forward.
David Partington was also named an Assessor of the Year and the Bloomberg headquarters picked up the regional award for Western Europe at the ceremony, which took place on 4th March in London.
Sweco provided buildings services consultancy and BREEAM assessment for Bloomberg, with the building receiving the highest design-stage score ever achieved by a major commercial development (98.5).
Alex Drysdale, operations director at Sweco UK, said: “These award wins are testament to the level of skill and commitment of our assessment and design teams who deliver the highest quality service and BREEAM ratings for each project we work on.
“The Bloomberg building is one of eight commercial buildings we’ve designed to achieve BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ and we continue to set the standards in the international design community for how sustainability can be achieved.”
BREEAM is the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for master planning projects, infrastructure and buildings. BREEAM-rated developments are more sustainable environments that enhance the well-being of the people who live and work in them, help protect natural resources and make for more attractive property investments.
