Asset Management converts the aims of an organisation into the practical implications for acquiring, creating, maintaining, disposing or renewing assets to deliver those aims. Sweco's asset management practice helps clients to deliver the maximum value from their fixed assets: people, finance, equipment, technology, land, buildings or structures, to enable the highest possible standards of service delivery, within risk and financial constraints. We are approved as endorsed assessor by the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) for PAS 55 and ISO 55000.
Sweco uses technology and modelling, as well as industry recognised tools to reduce the costs and risk of managing asset replacement schemes.
Our hands-on approach to control and automate plant and processes extends from the specification and use of relay based systems, through PLCs, to safety critical shut down systems.
We carry out studies to ascertain replacement feasibility and then use risk and consequence of failure information, to develop entire asset replacement programmes with a prioritised renewal methodology.
Our team has experience in successfully delivering asset replacement schemes using control systems, ranging from simple flow monitoring and control methods (using a flow signal to modulate a valve or penstock), through to complete automation of treatment works.
