KEY FACTS

Client: Quinn Estates

Services: Buildings, Infrastructure, Advisory & Planning, Building Standards

Main Contractor: Quinn Estates

Architect: Clague Architects

BACKGROUND

One of Ashford’s largely anticipated Big 8 development projects, Connect 38 is designed by Canterbury-based Clague Architects. Sweco had the pleasure to be extensively involved in the design process. Adding to the sense of fulfilment involved in such a project is the knowledge that the office space would be occupied by our own company.

Deemed to “set the standard for office space in the south east”, the project allowed the Ashford office to showcase the multidisciplinary package that we deliver so successfully.

SOLUTION

Alongside MEP, transport planning and acoustic services, the scheme saw a detailed civil and structural engineering design of this four-storey reinforced concrete framed office block, which also boasts an additional inset steel framed storey at roof level. Hailed by the client as a “good example of quality design, location and construction”, Sweco’s Ashford office are now pleased to be situated amongst our own handiwork on the fourth floor.
