Located in the heart of Poznan in Poland, the Baltyk building has become the city's new landmark. Designed by MVRDV, the famous Dutch architecture and urban design firm, it has an original and simple form which includes a stepped façade with terraces overlooking the city. In early 2017, the 17 storey building opened as the new office of Sweco Poland. “Baltyk” inherited its name after the cinema, formerly located on site.
Sweco Poland was appointed to deliver a BREEAM certification for the Baltyk Building in the hopes of achieving an ‘Excellent’ rating. We also prepared additional studies focusing on the ecology, daylight analysis and travel plan.
The scope of our services also included site inspections, compliance monitoring, commissioning and the co-ordination of design and construction works.
