The St. Botolph Building London

The St Botolph Building is designed to provide high quality, large open-plan work spaces in the City of London. It consists of a 68,500 m², 13 storey office development with 7,800 m² of dealer floors and 2,400 m² of retail space. Sweco was appointed to design the fit-out of the basement, lower ground, ground and Levels 3 to 9.

Background

One of the largest fit-out schemes of 2013, this project was driven by JLT’s requirement to consolidate four London offices containing some 1,800 staff into one central location. In addition to open plan office accommodation, this scheme included the addition of three kitchens, dining areas, a 180 person auditorium, extensive client facing executive spaces, a wellness centre, a dedicated entrance and reception area.

Solution

The project is noteworthy in terms of the services that were specified. The highly efficient LED lighting system used throughout the project is the UK’s largest installation of this type and achieves significant energy and maintenance savings.

Intelligent FCUs have also been integrated that can be remotely re-commissioned. This saves time during commissioning and allows the facilities team to adjust systems to suit the needs of occupants remotely.
