BACKGROUND

West Drayton Railway Station is a DfT category E station located between Iver and Hayes & Harlington stations. The station was one of the existing Great Western railway stations, opened on 4 June 1838.

It is one of the existing stations located on the proposed new Crossrail Elizabeth Line which had been identified for future upgrade works.

SOLUTION

Sweco were the lead discipline on the scheme undertaking internal and external inspections of the main station building, carrying out GRIP 5 detailed design works for the main station building refurbishment works, alongside undertaking temporary and permanent design works to allow for alterations to be made to a load bearing wall within the station’s main ticket hall.
