Transport Planning and Development Infrastructure

In today’s built environments, people need to be able to travel efficiently and safely, in order to live, work, and function as citizens in everyday life. Sweco’s transport planning team understand the need to balance the demand for access by car, while supporting and promoting more sustainable and active travel modes, in the development of transport infrastructure.

Active Travel

Sweco are committed to promoting more sustainable and active modes of transport and travel. The transport planning team has wide experience of delivering active travel projects across the UK.

We work with key stakeholders to develop and implement strategies and infrastructure that aims to connect communities to important facilities such as town centres, healthcare and education.

Our team support clients, from higher education, health and local authorities, as well as private sector developers with an interest in achieving planning consent and integrating their developments with new infrastructure.

From designing new cycle routes in urban and rural areas for local authorities, to undertaking travel behaviour change campaigns that promote walking and cycling to universities, we carry out stand alone projects or work as part of a wider masterplan.
