Our transportation experts plan and design highway networks that support economic growth and connect people, goods and services. We are at the forefront of the digital revolution – using technology to enhance our delivery and the safety and sustainability of our services across urban and inter-urban transport networks. Our team of over 250 professionals are located across twelve offices within the UK and Ireland, and operate through regional centres of excellence to deliver both local and national projects for a wide ranging spectrum of public and private clients. Working with our colleagues from transport planning and environment, we deliver schemes through the full lifecycle – from early business case through to construction supervision. At our core is an ethos that works collaboratively with our clients and partners and supports an inclusive and innovative environment.
When designing a new transportation scheme it is important that the views of all those who will use it, live and work next to it, and approve it are engaged as early as possible in the planning and design process. That way the final scheme will meet the needs, requirements and aspirations of the broadest cross section of society.
Sweco’s engineering professionals have extensive experience of stakeholder management and recognise the importance of early and continued engagement with affected parties such as landowners, highway users, asset owners, regulatory bodies, highway authorities, interest groups and government agencies to ensure that the needs and requirements of all are recognised, understood and addressed as far as possible.
Our stakeholder managers act as a single point of contact for interested parties to ensure that the correct information is provided to all at the appropriate time in the design process, and that all communications are logged, distributed, actioned and responded to in order to eliminate scheme programme and approval delays.
