A key element of an economy's success is the ability to transport people and goods, safely, efficiently and sustainably. Sweco’s transportation experts have what it takes to plan, design and construct transport systems that simplify people’s everyday lives. By designing everything from highways and bridges to intelligent transport systems, we improve accessibility for tomorrow’s society. Our team of over 250 transportation professionals located in twelve design centres across the UK, including our most recent office in Cork, Ireland operate across a broad spectrum of markets and clients at every stage of the project lifecycle from initial project planning to final scheme operation and maintenance. Our teams work collaboratively with our clients to deliver innovative, sustainable and cost-effective multi-disciplinary design solutions every day.
When designing a new transportation scheme it is important that the views of all those who will use it, live and work next to it, and approve it are engaged as early as possible in the planning and design process. That way the final scheme will meet the needs, requirements and aspirations of the broadest cross section of society.
Sweco’s engineering professionals have extensive experience of stakeholder management and recognise the importance of early and continued engagement with affected parties such as landowners, highway users, asset owners, regulatory bodies, highway authorities, interest groups and government agencies to ensure that the needs and requirements of all are recognised, understood and addressed as far as possible.
Our stakeholder managers act as a single point of contact for interested parties to ensure that the correct information is provided to all at the appropriate time in the design process, and that all communications are logged, distributed, actioned and responded to in order to eliminate scheme programme and approval delays.
