Hartland Park
As part of its process to determine the optimal long-term business mix for the company Outokumpu completed a strategic review of the Long Products business area. The review required strategic investigation of multiple options for Outokumpu’s SMACC and ASR facilities in Sheffield including opportunities for implementing a turnaround program, consolidation within the stainless long products markets, and rationalisation of the production asset base.

Project story
Hartland Park extends to around 135 acres in total and is made up of three main parcels of land; Pystock North, The Howf and Bramshott Road. The application for the site created a new village destination. The village core would contain a central square and a village green around which high density residential homes and a primary school will be located. The scheme would provide approximately:
- 1,500 new homes
- Commercial/community space in village centre – 10,000-20,000 sqft
- Two form entry primary school on site – 2.2 hectares
- Centralised CHP
Sweco provided detailed noise monitoring and modelling of noise from roads, aircraft and adjacent commercial/research developments. This formed part of the detailed noise assessments required to support the Environmental Impact Assessment and Reserved Matters Applications.
