North West off-motorway industrial scheme offers links to rest of UK
As we increase our reliance on UK-based distributors to fill the shelves of our supermarkets and retail stores, developers are offering firms the chance to set up shop on disused land with the development of large industrial units.
Ma6nitude is one such site. Situated on the Middlewich Eastern Bypass, close to Junction 18 on the M6, it connects businesses operating in the region with more than 450-acres of mixed-use space and amazing transport links to the rest of the country; located just three minutes from the nearest motorway and eight miles from the proposed Crewe HS2 Superhub.
Already occupied by several food and drink retailers as well as a petrol station, Travelodge and the local police constabulary, many of the existing units have been allocated to high street names, including Wincanton, B&M Bargains, Optima Power, Tesco, Scottish Power, and Kuehne and Nagel. Available phases that are currently under construction vary in size from 41,000 sq ft to 36 acres.
We were appointed as the Approved Inspector of two units – Unit 11 and Unit 12 – on site, to ensure they each met requirements when it comes to fire safety and industry regulations. Both units, spanning 149,000 sq ft and 41,000 sq ft respectively, will be used as storage and office accommodation.
After reviewing the initial designs of the scheme, we are working with the local fire team to help deliver the proposals, having developed a professional partnership with the contract team on site.
