Get your ‘Ticket to Antarctica’ today!

Have you ever dreamt of travelling to Antarctica? If so, you have the opportunity to travel virtually on the RRS Sir David Attenborough when it sets sail for the frozen continent on Sunday 13 October.

As part of your ‘Ticket to Antarctica’, your name will be added to a time capsule that will travel aboard the ship and you will receive weekly email updates and postcards from the ten-week voyage, which will cover a remarkable 8,200 nautical miles. During your travels, you will meet some of the crew on board this state-of-the-art polar research vessel, you will delight in the amazing wildlife and visit the British Antarctica Survey’s research stations at Rothera, Signy, Bird Island and King Edward Point.

As well as email updates, you will also have the opportunity to get involved in Q&A sessions with key experts and join a live call with Rothera Research Station in Antarctica.

Ticket to Antarctica aims to bring the magic of the Antarctic to people of all ages – creating a deeper understanding and appreciation for this remote continent, and the science taking place to understand the impact of climate change.

If you are interested in this adventure of a lifetime – from the comfort of your own home – sign up for your Ticket to Antarctica today. As well as learning more about the frozen wilderness, it’s also great way to support those Sweco colleagues who are working with teams from BAM and Ramboll to deliver the Antarctic Infrastructure Modernisation Programme (AIMP).

The upcoming AIMP season will be a very busy one as everyone works together to complete the Discovery Building, British Antarctic Survey’s new science and research facility at Rothera Research Station. The Discovery Building should be completed in April 2025.
