Sweco Building Control supports award-winning Roots In The Sky project
Huge ‘félicitations’ to our clients, Fabrix, whose Roots in the Sky project on London’s South Bank was recognised as ‘Best New Development’ at the MIPIM Awards 2023 in Cannes.
We’re proud to have supported this fantastic development as Approved Inspectors, ensuring all proposals comply with Building Regulations – from fire safety and building services to accessibility approvals. Providing critical regulatory support to innovative projects is key to enabling the success of forward-thinking design which is conceived to help address the climate emergency through sustainable thinking.
Congratulations also to architect Sheppard Robson, Structural Engineer Symmetrys Structural and Civil Engineers and M&E/Sustainability Engineer Atelier Ten who have all played key roles in bringing this transformational vision to life.
Sweco is proud to be acting as the Approved Inspector for the Roots in the Sky scheme on London’s South Bank, providing ongoing support to the design team and ensuring compliance with Building Regulations.

Roots In The Sky redefines what an office building can be – taking as much care in giving back to the natural environment and local community as its commercial occupiers.

When it comes to re-imagining office space, Roots in the Sky is a fantastic example of how a net zero building can include inspiring community spaces – we are extremely proud to support this wonderful scheme.
