Phase 2 of high specification student accommodation
University isn’t just about studying. For many, the community and creating new friendships is equally as important as learning. As such, student accommodation developers are putting greater efforts into community environments and leisure facilities that provide pupils with everything they need to get the most from their time studying.
Located in Salford Quays, near the thriving MediaCityUK and Lowry Centre and just a short distance from the bustling Manchester City Centre, Discovery Quay at King William Street is designed to achieve just that. The second phase of the development, DQ2, worth £30million, is currently in progress and due to complete in autumn 2023.
DQ2 is a 41,000 sq ft, 15-storey scheme developed by Bricks Capital on an unused and derelict site, which will deliver a total of 859 student bedrooms with ancillary space and a roof terrace. Using the development to demonstrate its credentials as a major player in student accommodation, Bricks Capital has also integrated a wealth of leisure spaces, including a coffee shop, gym, library, media and gaming area, and double-storey ‘Festival Zone’.
The project has been such a success, that Bricks Capital appointed our team to deliver building control services across its other developments based in Norwich, Leicester, Sheffield and Nottingham.
