Architecturally acclaimed hotel declared ‘amazing’ by planners
The Leonardo Hotel in Manchester is the latest development in the Fattal Group’s UK expansion and has already hit the headlines, winning a design award from the city’s Society of Architects before construction even began.
Located near Manchester Piccadilly Station, the 110,000 sq ft hotel, designed by Stephenson Studio, follows Fattal Group’s purchase of the Midland Hotel in 2018. Once complete, the development will be home to 275 luxury hotel bedrooms with complementing high specification facilities including a ground floor bar and restaurant.
Falling into the East Village strategic regeneration zone, the 13-storey building is inspired by Jenga blocks and Milan’s ‘vertical forest’ tower blocks and has been designed to bring vitality back to the area, being made of white concrete blocks and incorporating planted balconies.
