Our collaborative approach is recognised with a Bentley Year in Infrastructure Award
We re excited to announce that our submission, Digitalisation with BIM a collaboration between Sweco UK, the Netherlands and Sweden was recognised with the Advancements in Project Delivery Award at the Bentley Year in Infrastructure 2020 Awards gala. The winners, in what is known as the Infrastructure Oscars , were announced last week.
“I want to congratulate all colleagues that have been involved. This is a great example of successful cross-border collaboration. It is also a great example of how we have taken a world leading position within BIM”, said Åsa Bergman, President and CEO of Sweco.
This award celebrates excellence and digital innovations in project delivery through collaboration, information sharing and content management. This is a great recognition of our Digital Delivery strategy; realised only through the support of our project teams and leaders and as well as the close working relationship of our clients and partners.
Sweco’s connected approach is providing immediate benefits for our projects (and ultimately our clients) as well are able to collaborate more efficiently as well as leverage industry-proven BIM workflows in a live common data environment, such as ProjectWise. We are also able to integrate multiple sources of data to connect and apply information to project insights.
In making its decision, the jury said: “This initiative implemented a connected digitalised approach across projects undertaken globally by a multi-disciplinary international engineering and design firm. The approach effectively implemented a roadmap for enforcing consistent standards and workflows shifting to a data driven management process and driving proactive project management by leveraging real time automated insights.”
“The Sweco Data Model allowed for a rapid project mobilisation as our main collaboration platform for both the Sweco team and external stakeholders. Additional benefits include the hosting of all project products (drawings, models and documentation), tracking progress of all products and a digital sign-off with an auditable trail in accordance with client/employer requirements,” stated Valeri Pleim, Technical Manager (Project Manager, M2 Junction 5 Improvement)
